The Katsura tree, Cercidiphyllum japonicum, is a native tree to China and Japan. Its known characteristics are to have a multiple trunks and dense formation. It does grows best in rich, moist soil that's well-drained and in full sun to partial shade. It likes to be protected from strong winds and hot afternoon sun. It typically matures to 40-60' tall. One of its most notable features is its attractive foliage and rounded-oval leaves. Be warned that foliage may scorch in hot, dry or windy conditions.
