Hibiscus - Rose of Sharon

This deciduous, late summer statement is adorned with saucer-shaped blooms from July to September. Flowers are single or double. Hibiscus grows best and flowers prolifically in full sun. Shield it from icy winds. Avoid even light shade, for shoots will not ripen well and so flowering is impaired. This shrub thrives on well-drained, fertile, sandy loam but tolerates poorer soils. Enjoy good results by enriching the planting area with plenty of well-rotted organic matter.
