Weeding TipsAre you a pro at growing weeds? Sometimes it seems as if weeds appear out of thin air and take over at an ungodly pace. It can be a frustrating and never-ending job especially when the mosquitoes start swarming outside, but it must be done. Of course there is the option of getting down and dirty. This laborious work of pulling and hoeing weeds by hand can be quite time consuming and tiresome. It is easiest and best to do weeding regularly when the weeds are smaller and not out of control and the weeds come out more willingly after a good rainfall. Most importantly, you need to keep up with the weeding and tackle the issue when the weeds are in a manageable state.

If you prefer the use of chemicals, there are a variety of options available. Whether you choose a traditional or more natural treatment, be sure to read all the instructions and consider the effects of overspray. Spray the weeds encroaching on your gardens, shrub borders and cracks in the walkways.

Other preventive measures include using weed barriers, adding wash stone and or/mulching in your garden beds. These methods help suffocate unwanted weeds. For those that want nothing to do with the hassle of weeding, McKay does offer Maintenance Services. Our crew would love to come out to your home and take care of your garden beds.
