Gooseberries

In and effort to contain the spread of the disease white pine blister rust Gooseberry plants were once outlawed in the United States. Gooseberries are some gardeners favorite berry fruit plant to grow because of how easy they are to grow, if you treat them right. They are great raw, stewed, in a pie, crumble, pies, jellies and ice cream. They tolerate full sun or partial shade. Some of them make great climbers if supported for the small urban landscape.
