Listed below are positions that represent frequent placement
opportunities.
McKay Nursery Independent Sales Representative
Education/Background BA or BS in Landscape
Architecture, Landscape Design or Horticulture Related Broad Based
Agri-Business Experience. Work experience in sales, marketing, personal
landscaping or other related green industry work.
Professionalism Decorum, Courtesy, and a Positive Attitude
shown to all customers.
Customer Service
- Professional interview and design plan presentation
- Timely delivery of plants and landscape services
- Servicing of plantings to substantiate total customer
satisfaction
- Promptly returning calls and correspondence
Reporting to Main Office Efficient forwarding of
all order information and service agreements. Meet with office personnel in
your territory. It is recommended to attend appropriate seminars, meetings and
nursery workshops.
Orientation All representatives are
encouraged to attend a one to two day orientation to assimilate each
representative to the 'McKay Way' of doing business. We fashion the building
blocks and business plans of your new business.
Territory
Select territories are available on a part time or full time basis in the
states of Wisconsin, Northern Illinois and Eastern Minnesota. Specific areas of
territory are designed to meet both the representatives and McKay's needs in
and around your area of residence.
Landscape Services
Foreman Requirements:
- Experience and Knowledge of landscape plants and their
proper planting
- Confidence in directing and communicating with crew members
- Familiar with all aspects of landscaping including building
walls, paver installation, running equipment and reading blue prints
- CDL drivers license
Crew Member Requirements:
- Install plant materials
- Work as member of 3 person crews
- Perform all work to Foreman's quality standards
- Run basic equipment, sod cutter, edger
- Employment period April-October
DELIVERY DRIVER
- Must be available for starting time of 5:00 am most
days
- Delivering landscape plant material to residential
customers on 25-35 stop routes
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds
- Must have CDL (BCD with Airbrakes). We can provide the
opportunity to secure this license.
- Must submit daily time, log and fuel sheets to delivery
manager.
- Must dress neatly
